Donna Mae (HoneyPie) Tichacek, 79, passed away July 14, 2012, at her home in Cass Lake surrounded by loved ones.
HoneyPie was born February 9, 1933, in Minneapolis and lived there until her marriage to Richard Tichacek in 1953, then moved to St. Louis, Missouri where she lived for the next 55 years & raised two sons, Rick & Wayne. In 2007 she moved back to Minnesota and settled in Cass Lake with her sister Betty Matthews & niece Lynett Waldon where she has lived the last 5 years of her life. HoneyPie enjoyed the casino, watching birds, shopping, and the smell of freshly cut grass and was a collector of rare finds, especially silverware.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rich; mother & father, two brothers, Bob & Wayne and three sisters, Dorothy, Shirley and Beverly and her most loyal friend & constant companion Brita, who she affectionately called her Wal-Mart special dog.
She is survived by her sons Rick (Lois)Tichacek and Wayne (Tina) Tichacek, three grandsons, Jason (Jessica), Eric and Patrick and special great granddaughter Ana all living in Missouri, two sisters Betty Matthews of Cass Lake and Bunny Olson of Sturgeon Lake, numerous nieces & nephews & great nieces & nephews who all called her Auntie Pie.
HoneyPie will be buried next to her husband at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis, Missouri. A celebration of her life will held at a later date at her home in Cass Lake.
