Iva T. Bestul, 93, of Bagley, Minnesota died on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Garden Place in Bagley, MN.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley, MN with the Pastor Chris Conger officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Bagley City Cemetery. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted with the arrangements.

Iva was born on February 5, 1919 in Lengby, MN to parents Willy and Eva Hilliard of Lengby, MN. She lived all of her early life in the Lengby, Clearbrook and Bagley area. Iva married Ernest Bestul on November 12, 1938 in Bagley, MN. They made their home in Bagley and surrounding areas until moving to Duluth, MN where they lived from 1951 to 1958 when they moved back to Bagley and farmed east of Bagley. Iva enjoyed gardening at the farm. They moved to Eugene-Springfield, Oregon area in 1965 where Ernie worked for the school district and Iva was a homemaker. They bought and sold homes also moving numerous times. Iva, who loved knick knacks, said her knick knacks knew to jump in the boxes to get ready for another move. She loved to plant roses around her homes. In June of 2003 they returned to Bagley to live near their son Ronnie and family. Iva worked at the Bagley Hospital for a few years in the late 50’s. She enjoyed going south to Arizona in the winter months.

She is survived by her husband of over 73 years, Ernest of Bagley Son – Ronnie (Linda) Bestul of Bagley, MN Brother – Billy (Jan) Hilliard of Duluth, MN 6 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Great Grandchild Numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, daughter Mavis, brother Vernon, sister Ona and step brother Edwin (Buddy) Nelson
